Data Deletion Requests — Basyt Chat
Last updated: May 25, 2026
This page explains how Basyt Chat Customers, Users, and End Users may request deletion of data related to the use of Basyt Chat, and how we handle requests to delete accounts, workspaces, User data, End User data, channels, integrations, and Basyt AI documents.
Basyt LLC, a company registered in the State of Wyoming, United States of America, provides a SaaS service for businesses and stores to manage customer conversations across multiple channels and connect them with integrations, automation, and AI-assisted features. For that reason, the way a deletion request is handled may vary depending on the type of data, the role of the requester, and whether Basyt controls the data directly or processes it on behalf of a business Customer.
For any data deletion request, you may contact us at:
1. Scope of This Page
This page applies to data deletion requests related to:
- Basyt Chat accounts and workspaces.
- Customer team Users and their permissions.
- End User data inside conversations.
- Conversation content, attachments, notes, and tags.
- Channel and integration data connected to an account.
- Store, order, and product data processed through integrations.
- Knowledge documents, Basyt AI files, and AI settings.
- Access tokens or connection settings related to external integrations.
- Operational or technical logs related to usage, within the limits described on this page.
Basyt does not control all data that may exist on external platforms, such as messaging channels, stores, or other service providers. Deleting data from Basyt does not necessarily delete it from every external platform used by the Customer.
2. Who Can Submit a Deletion Request?
A data deletion request may be submitted by:
A. Account Owner or Authorized Administrator
This is the person or entity that owns or manages the Basyt Chat account or workspace, or has sufficient administrative authority to request deletion of the account or related data.
B. User Within the Customer’s Team
This is a member of the Customer’s team who wants to delete their User account data, remove their access from a workspace, or request a review of their personal data related to their use of the platform.
C. End User
This is a person who communicated with a company or store using Basyt Chat through a channel such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Telegram, email, SMS, website widget, or another channel.
In many cases, the business Customer you communicated with is the party responsible for your data, and we may need to direct your request to that Customer or work with that Customer to handle the request.
D. User Who Connected an External Account or Channel
If you connected an external account or granted permissions for a specific integration, you may request disconnection or deletion of data related to that connection where available and legally appropriate.
3. How to Submit a Data Deletion Request
To submit a deletion request, contact us at:
Please include as much of the following information as possible:
- Request type: account deletion, workspace deletion, User deletion, End User data deletion, channel data deletion, or Basyt AI document deletion.
- Email address associated with the account or User.
- Company, store, or workspace name, if applicable.
- Phone number, email address, or channel identifier related to the data, if the request concerns an End User.
- Name of the channel or platform related to the request, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Salla, or Shopify.
- A brief description of the data you want deleted.
- Any information that helps us verify your identity or authority to process the request.
We may request additional information to verify the identity or authority of the requester before carrying out deletion, especially if the request relates to a company account, End User data, or data that may affect other parties.
4. If You Are an End User of a Business Using Basyt Chat
If you are an End User who communicated with a company or store using Basyt Chat, that company may be the party that determines why your data is collected and how it is used. In that case, the company may be the primary controller of your data, while Basyt acts as a service provider or processor on its behalf.
You may contact us at [email protected], and we will try to assist you or direct your request to the appropriate business where possible and legally appropriate. We may also ask you to contact the business you communicated with directly, because that business may be the party able to verify your identity, understand the conversation context, and make the appropriate decision regarding deletion.
5. If You Arrived from Meta, Facebook, or Instagram
If you arrived at this page from Meta, Facebook, or Instagram settings, or because of a data deletion request related to an integration, app, or channel connected to Basyt, you may send your deletion request to:
Please include as much information as possible to help us identify the data, such as:
- The name of the company or store you communicated with.
- The channel used, such as Facebook, Instagram, or WhatsApp.
- Account, page, or conversation identifier if available.
- Email address or phone number related to the communication.
- A brief description of the request.
If the request relates to data controlled by a business Customer using Basyt Chat, we may need to work with that Customer or direct the request to that Customer. If the request relates to data or permissions directly controlled by Basyt, we will review and handle the request according to this page, our Privacy Policy, and applicable laws.
6. What Data May Be Deleted?
Depending on the type of request, the requester’s authority, and applicable laws, deletion may include one or more of the following:
- Account or User data.
- Workspace data.
- End User data.
- Conversation content, messages, and internal notes.
- Files, attachments, images, and documents.
- Tags, assignments, and conversation statuses.
- Knowledge documents, Basyt AI files, and AI settings.
- Channel and integration settings connected to the account.
- Access tokens or connection keys related to external integrations.
- Commerce, order, or product data synchronized from external integrations where deletion is appropriate and available.
The scope of deletion may vary depending on whether you request deletion of a full account, specific User data, End User data, or a particular integration.
7. What Data May Not Be Deleted Immediately?
We may not be able to delete some data immediately or completely in the following cases:
- We are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or tax reasons.
- It is needed to prevent fraud or abuse or to investigate a violation.
- It is necessary to resolve a dispute, enforce an agreement, or protect the rights of Basyt, its Customers, or Users.
- It exists in backups within a temporary technical retention cycle.
- Deletion would affect the data or rights of other parties.
- The data is held by an external platform that Basyt does not control.
- The request cannot be verified or is submitted by a person without appropriate authority.
Where we need to retain some data, we aim to limit retention to the minimum necessary and only for as long as needed for the legitimate purpose.
8. Account or Workspace Deletion
Requesting deletion of an account or workspace may result in:
- Loss of access to the account and related data.
- Deletion or deactivation of Users inside the workspace.
- Deletion or deactivation of conversations, settings, and attachments where applicable.
- Disconnection of channels and integrations.
- Deletion or deactivation of Basyt AI documents and settings.
- Stopping future data synchronization from channels or external platforms.
Before requesting deletion of a full account or workspace, we recommend exporting any data you need to keep, if export tools are available in your account or export is technically and legally possible.
Deleting a Basyt account may not delete data from external systems, channels, stores, or service providers that you connected to your account. You may also need to manage deletion or revoke permissions directly from those platforms.
9. Deletion of User Data Within a Customer Team
If you are a User within a company or store team using Basyt Chat, the account administrator may be able to remove your access or delete your data from the workspace.
You may also contact us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your authority or direct your request to the account owner or authorized administrator, because the business account and its data may belong to the business Customer rather than to the individual User.
10. Deletion of End User Data
If the request relates to an End User, deletion or deactivation may include:
- The End User profile inside the Customer’s account.
- Contact data such as phone number or email address where applicable.
- Conversations or parts of conversations where appropriate and lawful.
- Notes, tags, or labels associated with that End User.
- Data imported from external channels or integrations where deletion is available.
We may need to work with the business Customer using Basyt Chat, because that Customer may be responsible for determining whether deletion is appropriate, required, or permitted.
11. Deletion of Basyt AI Data and Documents
If you use Basyt AI features, you may request deletion of knowledge documents, files, or AI settings associated with your account where available.
This may include:
- Uploaded knowledge documents.
- Instructions, questions, or rules associated with the AI agent.
- Basyt AI settings inside the workspace.
- Certain data or usage logs related to AI features where deletion is appropriate and available.
Some limited records may be retained for security, operational, legal, or abuse-prevention reasons.
12. Disconnecting Channels and Integrations
Where available, the Customer may disconnect certain channels or integrations from account settings. Disconnecting may:
- Stop receiving or sending new data through the integration.
- Revoke or stop use of access tokens inside Basyt.
- Stop future synchronization from that integration.
However, disconnecting does not necessarily delete all data previously processed inside Basyt or inside the external platform. If you want previously processed data deleted, you must submit a clear deletion request or use available deletion tools.
13. Data Held by Third Parties
Basyt may integrate with external platforms such as messaging channels, stores, payment providers, team tools, or other service providers. Basyt does not always control data retained by those third parties outside our systems.
If you want your data deleted from an external platform, you may need to:
- Disconnect the integration from your Basyt account.
- Delete the data from your account with the external platform.
- Revoke permissions or tokens from the external platform settings.
- Contact the external service provider directly.
We will try to guide you where appropriate, but third-party deletion practices are governed by their own terms and policies.
14. Data Deletion Request Processing Time
We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within a reasonable period after receiving them.
After receiving the necessary information and verifying the requester’s identity or authority, we aim to process eligible requests within 30 days, unless more time is needed because of the complexity of the request, the number of affected systems, required verification, legal obligations, or technical limitations.
If we need additional time, we will try to inform you where practical and appropriate.
15. Identity and Authority Verification
To protect data from unauthorized deletion, we may need to verify the identity or authority of the requester before carrying out deletion.
Verification may include:
- Confirming the email address associated with the account.
- Verifying the User’s permissions inside the workspace.
- Requesting information that helps identify the conversation, channel, or End User.
- Contacting the account owner or authorized administrator if the request relates to a company account.
We may refuse or delay the request if we cannot sufficiently verify identity or authority.
16. Effect of Deletion on the Service
Deleting certain data may disable or reduce some Service functionality, such as:
- Loss of conversation history.
- Loss of customer or order context.
- Stopping some integrations.
- Reduced accuracy or usefulness of Basyt AI features.
- Loss of reports or statistics related to deleted data.
- Inability to restore some data later.
You should review the effect of deletion before requesting deletion of a full account or important data.
17. Backups and Technical Logs
Some data may remain for a limited period in backups, technical logs, or security records, even after it is deleted from active systems.
These backups or logs are retained for purposes such as disaster recovery, security, compliance, or abuse investigation. We do not use data deleted from active systems for new purposes, and we aim to delete or overwrite it from backups according to regular retention cycles.
18. Refused or Limited Requests
We may refuse or limit a deletion request if:
- We cannot verify the requester’s identity or authority.
- The request relates to data that Basyt does not control.
- Deletion would improperly affect the rights or data of other parties.
- There are legal, accounting, or security obligations to retain the data.
- The request is repetitive, abusive, or disproportionate.
- The account is under investigation for fraud, abuse, or violation of the Terms of Service.
Where appropriate, we will explain why the request was not fully or partially carried out.
19. Relationship with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
This page supplements Basyt’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. The Privacy Policy explains the categories of data we process, purposes of processing, and privacy rights, while this page explains how deletion requests may be submitted and handled.
If there is a conflict between this page and the Privacy Policy or Terms of Service, they should be interpreted together in a way that supports data protection and legal compliance. If a conflict cannot be reconciled, the document that is more specific to the subject of data deletion controls, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
20. Updates to This Page
We may update this Data Deletion Requests page from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, laws, platform requirements, or how requests are handled.
We will post the updated version on the website with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after the update is posted means you have been informed of the updated page, without limiting any rights you may have under applicable laws.
